Apparently, for decades, green tea was the American hot beverage. And then politics and the racialization thereof were used to get us off Japanese tea and onto black teas from India. The more you know!

Japan was getting too big for its britches, and Murican dollars could no longer support the growing godless menace. So Indian and Sri Lankan teas were given favorable trade status and propaganda was leveled against Japanese teas and businesses. We had a war to get to, after all!

My Mom and I both love all kinds of teas (she had to lay off of any with caffeine due to afib but she will sometimes do a 50/50 caf/herb thing if she really needs to get something done).

Japan was getting too big for its britches, and Murican dollars could no longer support the growing godless menace. So Indian and Sri Lankan teas were given favorable trade status and propaganda was leveled against Japanese teas and businesses. We had a war to get to, after all!

My Mom and I both love all kinds of teas (she had to lay off of any with caffeine due to afib but she will sometimes do a 50/50 caf/herb thing if she really needs to get something done).
