Bob Dylan's 80th Birthday Approximately

Wednesday, May 26, 7 to 9 PM
on Weekly World Blues and Honky Tonk Radio Girl

Celebrating 80 years of America's Sweetheart, Matt Fiveash and Becky B team up for a 2-hour special examining what it was he done, through the lens of the blues and country music that he used as his raw materials. We'll hear blues & country artists covering Bob, blues & country songs that Bob covered, songs that Bob lifted from, and some choice cuts from Bobby Z himself, plus whatever else your opinionated hosts decide is appropriately Dylan-adjacent. Guaranteed 100% conventional-wisdom-free, sure to offend hardcore Dylan fans and too-cool-for-school detractors alike. Tune in, you will not die, it's not poison!

@βrian my English pride got in the way of your (wiser) answer -- we bloody invented the sport but as usual aren't so good at playing it

Tim, for you sir, of course. Mates' rates and extra discretion assured.

@Rick is the Cantona film worth watching? It looked a bit dubious, also when Loach tries comedy I'm not sure... Waiting to be proved wrong

(Oh ah) Cantona was superb as the French ambassador in Elizabeth.

@David, red hot ideas! They're on the back-burner but I feel that could be arrestable. Like saying their coffee is deplorable. Which it is, but I wouldn't say it. Or their wine gives awful hangovers. I wouldn't say that either.

Nice to catch the end of "Romeo" on coming home! Thanks again, Joe.

I liked the Loach film. Unlike many of his films, it has a perhaps too happy ending. Still, the lead actor, not Cantona, is endearing.

Cantona, has he ever not been splendid?

Just got back from across the pond where there were many roadside asparagus stands and not a few confederate battle flags. Ah, Michigan.

Good luck surviving the tourists in France, Pascal. We're heading to the UK at the end of July.

Fer cryin' out loud, "Hot Rod Lincoln" has more of a story than "Jack and Diane".

Thanks, Joe. You prove on a weekly basis that Garfield the cat does not know what he's talking about. As far as Mondays, I should say. His opinions on lasagna seem legit.
