@Woods: Jeff Parker is a major talent and one of my favorite current guitarists. For like 10 years, he played EVERY TUESDAY at a bar in my neighborhood. I went a few times but now I regret all the nights I didn't - of course, that bar is gone now, Jeff Parker moved to L.A., etc, etc, etc.

People like Parker and Bill Frisell, employing loopers and freeze pedals and they weave together stuff in real time. Pretty amazing stuff. This Buffalo Springfield song is so sweet! I once saw the Velvet Fog (Mel Torme) at Brooklyn College --in the late 80's with the McGuire Sisters. We were still in our twenties--so we were quite a contrast to the crowd then. Lots of foundation and incontinent jokes. But--he was a smoothe operator.

I guess i missed the survey... fwiw i'd love to hear older archives of alt-stream shows like Double Dip Recess, Cool Blue Flame and Hinky-Dinky Time repeated at different hours on those streams. I tend to wonder if DDR lost a lot of regular listeners when Brainen got back on the Sat morning schedule.

Saw him in Santa Barbara - with a local pickup Jazz band played every week @ this hotel. Eddie told the pickups to sit out - & shamed this rhythm section - just by clacking the keys of his saxophone. This I will not forget. He passed away not long after.

I like Wonderin' too. I had a bootleg cassette of Neil live at Carnegie Hall in the late sixties or early seventies. He performed Wanderin' which confused me initially. I guess it's an old song that he repurposed for the Shocking Pinks.

Rev Rabbit - Classic Neil. I think Richard Thompson did very much the same when they asked him to do the '1,000 Years of Popular Music' album. They were expecting him to pretty much do classics from the 1950s onward, but he decided to take it all the way back to Purcell. Would love to have been a fly on the wall at the meeting at which those masters changed hands...
