Well thank you Scott, I grew up here & I don't often think of it as a beautiful city (lots of heartache for me, not the city's fault), but downtown & some other areas are quite nice.

when i was a teen they spent a fortune to "beautify" downtown so to attract shoppers, so whatever quaint small town historical thing it had was now faux-historic. fake brick sidewalks; fake antique town clock and benches (that young people were always chased away from by the cops); fake converted gas streetlamps...and of course the plan didn't work.
now, on top of the ugly, they've jammed 3-story block-like buildings everywhere.
beyond downtown is mostly standard middle-class suburbs, mostly single family homes; and a bit of industry in the other direction.
