My crate digging experiences were, 1), having my partner taking me to the barrio in Monterrey, MX to score some cumbia/rebejada (she insisted we leave before dark), and 2), a junk store in Bed-Stuy, where records were all in piles unorganized, and found a lot of old-school hiphop and rare John Cage records very cheap.

Mexican record store was a drug front, they were surprised I actually wanted records. When they asked me if wanted any substances, I replied, "i have my own supply". (my Spanish sucked back then, so my partner translated)

I'm pro cassettes. Other than streaming FMU I'm strictly physical media. I'm pretty much priced out of records these days so cassette still offers an affordable way for me to pick up cool sounds for cheap.

Back in '96 I was walking down Broadway/Lafayette and I was wearing Vintage "Three the Hard way" T-Shirt..and he passed me then scream "WAIT..is that an OG shirt..lemme take a photo". He took a photo walked me all the way to two boots pizza, ordered a slice while he intro'd himself..I was excited to meet him, we chatted and then he walked way with the slice he order..and I had to pay for it...LOL
