Oh yeah, Hatch. You probably already saw this, but they recently released a tape of McCain meeting Anna Nicole Smith, and he said his favorite episode was the fishing one.

Tue. 11/4/08 10:52am Ike:

As usual, there was no line in northern Newark NJ. I waltzed in and voted immediately on a Sequoia AVC Advantage machine at around 8:30. I was sort of hoping for a line, even though NJ is not a battleground state.

Tue. 11/4/08 10:58am Big A:

MACHINE GUN McCAIN!! - Love the Electile Dysfunction Stream - Godspeed WFMU, Godspeed.

Tue. 11/4/08 11:00am Lizardner Dave:

Had about a ten minute wait in mid-Staten Island this morning at about 7am. Was #31 in my district which is pretty good (one voter every two minutes) especially since at that hour in the past I've often been a number in the single digits.

Tue. 11/4/08 11:02am eamon:

Godspeed Obama, You Black Emperor! uhh, maybe not

Tue. 11/4/08 11:02am PMD:

I think it doesn't matter. both up or down are ok.

Tue. 11/4/08 11:06am Ned:

Did you see the Dave the Fisherman (for Obama) video my friends put together?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_j_epXMpfeQ

Tue. 11/4/08 11:07am PMD:

Tue. 11/4/08 11:13am Parq:

Okay, I'm in. I got the day off and am enjoying a good breakfast before going out and pulling the lever on one of NYC's good old non-touch-screen reliable voting machines.

Tue. 11/4/08 11:14am Parq:

I loved the dude going on about Obama's extremism and racism and repetitious talking points. Do you ever get the feeling that right wingers are looking in a mirror when they talk?

Tue. 11/4/08 11:16am efd:

drunk?! I hadn't even considered that possibility!

Some of us will need to drive home afterwards. :)

Tue. 11/4/08 11:16am GP:

Tue. 11/4/08 11:30am Parq:

The interview with Meg's mom was way enhanced by granddaughter Holly's kitchen-pot drum solo in the background.

Tue. 11/4/08 11:30am Bad Ronald:

Hey it's BillyJ!!!

Tue. 11/4/08 11:32am Bad Ronald:

Not so dumb C. I've been requesting CC all throughout the campaign!

Tue. 11/4/08 11:35am sahak:

i heard that prank call to palin haha she is such a stupid head

Tue. 11/4/08 11:37am Supreme Court:

I appologize for mentioning this, but I just heard the phone call discussing "the dream of Roe v. Wade overturned" by a Republican administration. I just want to say that no Republican administration will overturn Roe v. Wade. Bush, McCain, Huckabee... anyone who actually has a chance of getting elected as a conservative has some sort of quasi-moderate platform (McCain's Maverickism, Bushes Passionate Conservatism) that relies on winning over some democrats and also the Republican base. While the "base" would like Roe v. Wade overturned, a Republican administration would never do it! It would kill a major source of enthusiasm to get their voters to the poll every year! That is why illegal immigration, gay marriage, and abortion mostly exist as "referendums"; they're there to stir up support at the polls, but no Republican with a shot at the presidency would actually want to overturn Roe v. Wade. That would destroy their voting bloc! The "base" has been, and continues to be, hoodwinked. Sarah Palin may want to actually overturn Roe v. Wade, but she won't be able to get support enough beyond the base to get elected.

Tue. 11/4/08 11:40am Parq:

Wow, Hatch, I didn't know you'd been to my office.

Tue. 11/4/08 11:46am detroitdave:

Supreme Court is absolutly correct. It will never get decided by the Feds, possibly at a state level but not Federal.

Tue. 11/4/08 11:49am Parq:

Riffing off SC's point, isn't it amazing how the GOP has realized how much it lost when it lost the USSR. Reagan tore down the Berlin Wall, so they say, but McCain & Palin are hastily putting it back up.

Tue. 11/4/08 11:52am Supreme Court:

Parq, Yeah, everyone needs their foil for a raison d'etre. What would Luke Skywalker have been without Darth Vader?

Tue. 11/4/08 11:52am come on:

How come mkkain/pal(k)in keep on the ayers thing. Isn't the KKK a terrorist organization - don't they remember who blew up the fed building in the 90s - white Americans! Who terrorizes the planet for the past two hundred years through its corporate imperialism. come on WTF!

Tue. 11/4/08 11:53am Supreme Court:

He'd just have been a moisture farmer on Tatooine, that's what.

Tue. 11/4/08 11:56am Parq:

Notice how the right wing shouting heads are convinced that the left is against freedom of speech? There they go, looking in that mirror again.

Tue. 11/4/08 12:00pm Lizardner Dave:

Actually, the right wing has a grain of truth on the speech issue. If the Fairness Doctrine gets reinstated by Obama, bye-bye to one-sided opinion news outlets like MSNBC and Fox News. Say what you will, but as long as there's one of each king out there they do add something to the conversation, though it is sometimes something stupid.

Tue. 11/4/08 12:01pm Lizardner Dave:

Should be "one of each kind". Sorry 'bout that.

Tue. 11/4/08 12:03pm Ike:

I don't believe the Fairness Doctrine could apply to cable TV, only to over-the-air broadcast outlets. In any case, I seriously doubt that O would go anywhere near that.
