Support JM in the AM's Web Stream
with the Mouse of Today Fund
In 1994, WFMU posted a handful of songs online, half suspecting that web-based music was a trend that might go the way of CB Radio. Fourteen years later, more people are listening to JM in the AM over the web than over the air, and it's clear that online music is here to stay.
On one hand, this is great--we're no longer bound by the FCC's geographic restrictions. But on the other hand, it's been expensive, since broadcasting has a fixed cost regardless of how many people listen, while each web listener increases the costs of online transmission.
Fortunately, we have an ace in the hole that's allowed us to develop JM in the AM's online offerings into the envy of radio stations worldwide. Listeners pledging $360 (20 times Chai) or more (payable in monthly installments) make possible all of our online offerings, including our live streams and archives, to the 24/6 operation of JM24, and our ever-increasing amount of daily live programming. And we've managed to do this with a full-time computer staff of one person, while comparable web operations employ dozens.
In the next year, we plan to expand the amount of live programming on JM24 to include a second Live Lunch per week. During the Marathon, Nachum and his crew will be live from 6 am-2 pm on Thursday, February 28th, and from 6 am-9 pm on Thursday, March 6th.
The Mouse pledge is payable in ten monthly installments, or any other payment plan you prefer. In return, a bottomless well of tchotchkes will appear at your doorstep, including the first four items listed on the pledge page, plus a copy of Shimon Apisdorf's Kosher for the Clueless But Curious.

Make Your Donation Last Forever
with The JM Future Fund
Most public radio stations have large endowments and even larger parent institutions to fall back on. JM in the AM has neither, but thanks to the people who've donated to the JM Future Fund, we've grown the most important nest egg of all--our own building. By taking all donations $1000 or higher and turning them into long term equity, we no longer fear eviction, and we have a valuable asset that we can fall back on in times of trouble.
Still, as much security as we have in owning our own building, there's a lot to be said for a bank account that generates enough interest to make a difference. And this year, that's what the JM Future Fund aims to do. While basic donations help keep JM in the AM on the air, donations of $1000 or more will stay with JM in the AM forever. Throughout 2008, our 25th anniversary year, we hope to get more $1000 pledges than ever, and to actually start an endowment fund which will generate ongoing income. People donating $2,500 or more also receive special on-air recognition as 25th Anniversary Supporters.
To entice your Future Fund pledge, you'll get not only a tax deduction from the IRS, but also a huge box of gifts from Tchotchke Central, including the beautiful coffee table book, The Illuminated Hallel.
To help with the JM Future fund, choose an amount and a payment option on the pledge page and choose your gifts.
We hope you can help with the Mouse or Future Fund campaigns, or by making a regular pledge of any amount by either calling us toll-free during the Marathon at 800-989-9368, or by making a secure online pledge.
