Yes. WFMU is owned and operated by Auricle Communications which is a tax exempt organization recognized under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service. Any donation made to WFMU is tax deductible, less the amount of any goodies you receive in exchange for your pledge. The IRS does not require a receipt except for donations of $250 or more, in which case WFMU will mail you a receipt next January, or earlier if you request it.
A Basic Pledge is any pledge from $15 to $364 and is used for WFMU's basic operations - keeping the lights and the transmitter on, for example.
A Mouse of Today Pledge is any pledge $365 or higher. These pledges are used to support WFMU's online presence. This year, we are going to improve access to our streams, archives, and podcasts for wirelessly-enabled mobile devices: from iPhones to Androids to tablets.
A Y3K is any pledge of $1000 or higher. These pledges are invested in long-term, station-wide infrastructure projects. They are used for transmitter projects, for maintenance and technical upgrades to our equipment and facilities, and for paying down the mortgage on our building. These investments have been the key to our survival during difficult financial periods, and have provided WFMU with an ever-important stake in our own stability.
Filling out the three Insta-Pledge boxes will take you to a more detailed page where you fill out additional information and choose the goodies you want.
When you make an online pledge to WFMU, you will immediately receive an acknowledgement, and after that, an actual human being at WFMU will examine your pledge and will e-mail you if any more information is needed.
WFMU uses a secure webserver, so you can pledge with a credit card right from the pledge form just as you would to buy stuff elsewhere on the Internet.
If you paid your online pledge with a credit card, that's all you need to do, but if you did not submit payment, no problem! We will then e-mail you a secure link to pay your pledge online a few days later.
If you would like to pay your pledge via PayPal, then the pledge receipt you see after submitting your pledge will direct you to a PayPal page on which you can make your payment to WFMU (PayPal's Bill Me Later service is NOT recommended). If you don't have a PayPal account, and you choose the PayPal option for payment, then you will be prompted to enter a secure credit card payment to WFMU. (But if you don't have a PayPal account, it is easier for us if you simply make a credit card payment on the WFMU pledge page.)

How do I add a pledge banner to Wordpress, Tumblr, and Blogger?
If you are using Wordpress we recommend installing the Raw Html Plugin. Once installed you can place the Insta-Plege code in between raw tags: [RAW] ... [/RAW].
In Tumblr, choose the video post option and paste in our Insta-Pledge code.
On Blogger, you should be able to paste in our iFrame code using HTML mode.
What about Facebook?
We have created a 2014 Marathon Event. Be sure to say you'll attend the event and invite your friends.
... and Twitter?
We've been asking people to add #wfmuthon to all their twitter posts about WFMU's Marathon.
- You can pledge online.
- You can call 800-989-9368 between February 23rd and March 9th.
Callers outside of the USA can dial 001-1-201-413-9368 to pledge by phone.
- You can use the Marathon 2014 brochure which was mailed to everyone on our mailing list.
- You can mail a check made out to "WFMU" to PO Box 2011, Jersey City, NJ 07303-2011.
You can pay your pledge by check or money order made out to "WFMU," or by credit card or PayPal.
We prefer checks (only if your bank is in the U.S.) and credit cards, WFMU accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. Our website is secure, so you can safely input your credit card information onto our pledge page.
We also offer PayPal as a payment option for listeners who have a PayPal account. If you choose the PayPal option, then after you submit your pledge, you will receive a link to a PayPal page on which you can send your payment to WFMU. PayPal's Bill Me Later service is not recommended.
Many listeners prefer to pay their pledges, especially larger pledges, in monthly installments or credit card charges. We are able to accomodate this request for pledges of $120 and higher for credit card or PayPal payments. If you prefer to pay your pledge by installment, please check the appropriate payment option on the pledge page.
WFMU encourages listeners to join our Swag for Life program, which is a monthly credit card or PayPal pledge of $10/month or more that automatically renews each year. We send out special swag to all Swag for Life members.
We will e-mail you a link to a secure payment page during or just after the Marathon. If you are unable to pay or if we don't hear from you, we will send you a follow-up payment form in the mail, and we will hold on to any prizes you may have won for 10 months. You can pay in full by check, credit card, or PayPal, or we can set up an automatic monthly payment subscription with your credit card or PayPal account. If you still cannot pay, you can request that we charge your credit card at any later date which you specify.
Please e-mail our Listener Services Director Joe or call him at 201-521-1416, ext 229.
