In the second hour: A preview of the Yara Arts Group theatre piece Obo, Our Shamanism, an evocation of Buryatian shamanism at La Mama, 74A East 4 St through April 1, in which Uragsha and Marjana Sadovska (see Transpacific Sound Paradise February 24, 2001) are featured performers. Live mini-set by Uragsha featuring the full ensemble plus a demonstration of Mongolian/Buryatian throat singing.
Uragsha will also perform at La Mama Galleria (6 E1 St) March 21, Symphony Space April 6 and present several workshops in the coming weeks. See http://www.brama.com/yara/buryat.html for details.
