Hear this
show
Tonight's show featured special live performances by two super musical
crushes of mine; Prewar Yardsale and Kimya Dawson. Prewar Yardsale
features Dina on the bucket percussion and vocals and Mike on the guitar
and vocals. They have a brilliant cd which will make you very happy and
you can find out more by visiting
their web site.
Also on tonights show was the awe inspiringly wonderful Kimya Dawson. She
is one half of The Moldy Peaches; who performed live on the FMU show
Rhubarb Cake
with Douglas (which can be heard on this
archive).
She
has
so many brilliant songs of her own I wanted those to be heard as well. You
can find out more about Kimya and the Peaches by visiting
this website.
Also,
the choir on "I'm Fine" consisted of
myself, Dina & Mike from Prewar Yardsale, engineer and dj supreme Irene
Trudell, and perhaps Jason Engel as well.

I dedicated the last set to the amazing Petra Haden; such a talented and
versatile artist, from her orchestral punky california pop band That Dog
to the unique and gorgeous acapella "Imaginaryland" and collaboration with
accordion player Miss Murgatroid. I was quite saddened to learn of her
horrible accident; being hit by a car, landing her in serious condition.
More info can be found at her
web
shrine, but I hope you all will join me
sending her really strong well wishes. Thanks.
