Andy Waltzer's Playlist for December 25, 2000
Hear this show

My show on Xmas day was of such a psychedelic and hallucinagenic nature that it was futile to keep tabs with playlists and such. I do remember playing some sweet songs, though. The main attraction was a live performance by Pamela Novick and Andy Demos. Pamela is an amazing vocalist; mostly in the celtic vein, though with definite nods in the realm of Incredible String Band and other "out there" branches of the folk tradition. Her new cd should be terrific and out soon and more info can be obtained from www.girlhenge.com. Andy once was the drummer and sax player with famed New Jersey band Tiny Lights. He had just received an Udu for Xmas and played it on the show. The performance was out of control and included tree worship poems, chants, tortilla chip percussion, and an extended jam that was equal parts disturbing and beautiful. The next morning I woke with a full fledged flu so maybe you should down an echinacea before attempting to listen to this show. Anyway, I hope you like it...happy new year & I love you.
