Gleneil - Cheepy Chappy and Ito

MP3:
Gleneil - Cheepy Chappy and Ito (7:16)

I don't know what it is about Gleneil and his 1985 vanity LP "Cruise It," but I can't get it out of my head. From its front cover that looks like a botch, to its barely describable music. This track is sort of like reggae meets The Chipmunks meets... a maniac? I have no idea. I'm at a loss. At times it seems like fairly straightforward synth-rock, and other times the drums miss beats, the raving chipmunk voice keeps babbling, the music drones on and on, and there's the endless refrain of "Shake it! Shake it! Shake it!" Make it stop!

If I had any guts I'd look up some of the band members, like, uh, "Rick" who plays drums. But I'm far too busy being lost in the void-like negative space of that cover, and Gleneil's persistent glare.
