Troll Associates - Computers

I found this read-along book in a Goodwill for $1.49. It's a great view on how simplistic the world of computers used to be, before the internet and porn. This book gives a introduction to computers that's easy enough for any child to understand. It touches on everything from the abacus to Pascal to binary. The illustrations are wonderfully silly and the soundtrack on the audio cassette is filled with classic synthesizer sounds.

Here's a sample from the book:

In a short time, electronic computers have revolutionized the way we gather information, store it, and use it. In the future, computers will have an even greater influence on our lives, on technology, indeed on virtually every phase of existence. Computers are unquestionably a major technological achievement of the twentieth century.
