Buddy Max is the singing, roller skating, cheese-eating, flea market-running, Ukrainian cowboy of Lecanto, Florida. He's been putting out records, tapes, and CDs on his Cowboy Junction label since the mid-70s. "The Birthmark Story," a track from Buddy's debut LP, 'Many Styles and Sounds of Buddy Max', is included on Irwin Chusid's outsider music compilation CD, 'Songs in the Key of Z Volume 2.'
NEABMAS (Northeast Alabama Buddy Max Appreciation Society) was formed by yours truly in 1984, and its membership has since grown into the upper single digits. "Uncle Mistletoe" is Buddy at his most Buddylike. "Poopity poopity poo, dippity dippity doo, hilly hilly ho, Uncle Mistletoe."
