The Ken Nordine Group - Six Commercials In Search Of A Client

A red 7" flexi produced by the one and only Ken Nordine to show what Evatone promotional soundsheets can do for your company. He goes through six imaginary scenarios all based around what any PR rep would be thinking given such an opportunity, Why would I want to give such a thing away? What will I say?, Who will do it? Will they do a good job? I originally thought this was a late 60's piece but he mentions that Reagan sent out one and a half million such promo soundsheets "and look where he wound up" which suggests it originated in the 80's. There are quite a few dents in the flexi so please excuse the audible bumps, I did my best to digitally iron them out.

I can tell you with absolute certainty that the Ken Nordine Group red flexi-disc was in circulation during 1970-71. I got it when I was a kid while my family lived in California in 1970-71. It came in the mail... I believe as a magazine insert. I still have mine, and play it occasionally... it's one of the strangest things I've ever heard, and it inspired me to seek out more stuff by Ken Nordine.

Ahhh, the joy of listening to The Ken Nordine Group's "Six Commercials In Search Of A Client." All I can say is now I know what it would have been like if William Shatner starred in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory."
